Secretary's report from November - Approved as
submitted.
There was a special meeting on November 28 to
interview Keith Dawson for the permanent
Head-of-School position.
● We reviewed Keith's Vision document and did
a full interview.
● The
board officially hired Keith Dawson as Head-of-School on November
28.
Head-of-School report - Keith Dawson
● Things are going well with Andrew as
Director of Development.
● Andrew and Keith are revamping the
Admissions process to make it more nimble.
There will be an emphasis on deliberate and timely
communication.
● The elementary science curriculum is being
reviewed.
● There is no boy's varsity basketball program
this season due to a lack of players.
There will be no MPA penalty. We will be eligible
again next year!
Treasurer’s Report - Steve Whiting
● The monthly finance packet was handed out
and reviewed.
● We are currently projecting a $9000 deficit
at the end of the fiscal year.
● Steve needs budget numbers from all
committee heads by the end of December.
The board had a brief welcome meeting with Andrew
– our new DOD.
Building Update - Chrissa Vocal
● Our insurance carrier wants us to have a
building assessment done by a certified
structural engineer. They also want us to get the
sprinkler system reviewed for
percentage of coverage

report - Keith Dawson
● Teacher observations have started
● Joanna Martel will be the new elementary
curriculum coordinator.
● Keith is working with a computer consultant
to make technology improvements.
● Andrew Ferreira, our new development
director starts on Nov 14.
● Student accident insurance through ACSI
shows looks very affordable...
● We are working on hosting a new foreign
exchange student for next year.
Treasurer’s Report - Steve Whiting
● The monthly finance packet was handed out
and reviewed.
Building Update - Chrissa Vocal
● Fixing the boiler pressure has stressed some
of our steam piping.
● All of our building grant money has been
used up.
● DECISION – We will use certified
contractors to deal with any lead paint removal.
School Vision Review and Discussion
● The top priority is spiritual formation.
● The culture needs to change before we will
see pride in the school and building.
● What is our value proposition to prospective
families?
● There is a lot that we can do that has no
budget impact.
Long Range Planning – Bill Bamford
● A proposal to work with an architect to
sketch out future space options was discussed.
● Other building options to pursue:
○ What would it cost to renovate Lincoln
School?
○ How much is the current building worth?
Ali's meeting with the teachers about the HOS
● Ali met with some teachers to find out what
they want in the HOS position.
● Ali distributed a summary list of items that
the teachers want to see.
