Andy Marston: On our last day, we finished
siding the cabin we had been working on all week. It looked really good
and made me feel like we had really helped the people at Word of Life. I
learned a lot about serving and being used by God behind the scenes.
I thank you for all the support. The trip was great and I feel like we really
helped the people of Word of Life. Jeff Sparks: I enjoyed working with other people that have already been there for many months to many years. I really enjoyed how Tom Wade allowed for us to join the other groups in paintball and other activities. Everyone was very open and talked to our group as if they had known us very well and for a long time. They treated us very well and took care of us, very generous people. I definitely saw how God surprises his followers. None of the guys on the trip know what to expect, completely unaware of food, shelter, work, etc. Once we got there, God just showered upon us blessing after blessing. I have learned more to trust God and just listen, not question. I learned that with what much is given, much is expected. This trip was amazing! The staff treated us well, we were able to help the group out there on some things that they needed done but had no time to do. The work on a cabin we started just inspired them to continue the progress that we made. God definitely showed all that He is in control and all we (believers) need to do is just follow Him and trust His word. Zachary Taylor: Most definitely the most exciting event was being able to fly for about 20 minutes over the Adirondack Mountains. After telling the pilot that I was working on getting by pilot license, he let me fly once we got in the air. My relationship with God grew by being able to share a few days with friends and to share with each other about God, and being able to spend time together during devotions. The trip was great opportunity to work for others and grow closer to God with my classmates. This trips destination was Lake Placid, New York, from March 13-20, 2005. |
